A scientific article by specialists from RusGazCryo LLC and NIU MEI was published in the Metallurg journal (VAK), dedicated to the development and modeling of an innovative technology for oxygen enrichment of blast furnace air.


A scientific article by specialists from RusGazCryo LLC and NIU MEI was published in the Metallurg journal (VAK), dedicated to the development and modeling of an innovative technology for oxygen enrichment of blast furnace air.

The work presented a method for injecting oxygen into the main air flow using a spray device. This technology allows for the uniform distribution of oxygen across the pipeline section, which leads to improved parameters for blast furnace blowing, reduced fuel consumption, increased energy efficiency and, as a result, product quality.

The team of authors developed physical and mathematical models of the aerodynamic process in the pipeline and carried out numerical modeling using specialized software. Calculations have shown that the optimal design of the atomizer makes it possible to achieve a uniform concentration of oxygen under various supply modes, and the achieved values meet the requirements of metallurgical production processes.

Model of the mixing unit and spray device

The Oxygen Distribution Unit (ODU) is a key system component equipped with precise control equipment for regulating oxygen supply parameters to the mixing unit. It ensures controlled gas injection into the main air stream, integrates the injector with flow and concentration sensors, guaranteeing uniform oxygen distribution across the pipeline section.
