Hydrogen oxidizers

Hydrogen plays a key role in long-term energy strategies. Its liquid form requires cryogenic storage and is used in the rocket industry, as fuel storage for internal combustion engines, and for neutron cooling.

Design features of the hydrogen liquefier

The installation consists of components located in separate rooms:

• a lubricating unit and a reinforcement shield, mounted on a single frame;
• control panel, automated control system with data output to the operator;
• condenser connected to the liquefier by cryogenic pipes.

The cryostat is designed as a vertical split housing with flanged sealed connections between parts. The device includes:

• heat exchangers;
• nitrogen and hydrogen collectors;
• protective multilayer screen-vacuum thermal insulation;
• membranes mounted in the casing, pressure control valves.

The cold compartment is insulated with alternating layers of metallized film and glass paper. Cryogenic pipes act as barriers preventing warm masses from reaching the unit.
