Description

Gas extracted from the earth contains a significant amount of moisture. During transportation, the resulting condensate reacts with gas components to form hydrates, which can settle on pipe walls and cause blockages. Glycol or methanol is used to dry gaseous substances. In the technological process, dryers are used repeatedly; for this purpose, they are regenerated and reused in production.

Methanol regeneration unit

The gas industry needs methanol as an inhibitor of hydrate formation. Methyl alcohol recovery plants are characterized by a 95% yield of pure substance. The technological process is as follows:

• preheating of the VMR;
• removal of condensate and low-boiling hydrocarbons in the separator;
• removal of the released gas from the upper part of the apparatus;
• output of VMR to the heat exchanger for heating by water flow;
• methanol regeneration;
• cooling and removal from the unit.

With thermal regeneration of methanol, efficiency increases to 87%.

Glycol recovery

• Medium flow to the fine filter;
• cooling of vapors in the dephlegmator, organization of irrigation flow;
• heating in a heat exchanger by means of a flowing hot stream, followed by feeding into an evaporation column;
• rectification of glycol-water mixtures;
• concentration of the desiccant in the stripping column;
• Pumping regenerated glycol through an air cooling device into a storage vessel.

The use of a regeneration control unit improves the efficiency, safety, and reliability of the equipment.
