Features
- The steel pipe and casing are protected from the thermal effects of the environment by multi-layer vacuum insulation.
- preliminarily, a pressure of less than 1.33 Pa is established in the thermal insulation cavity by degassing and vacuuming;
- The cryoadsorption pump maintains the pressure in the thermal insulation space below 1.33 Pa (-2.0 Pa) when filling the pipes with the working medium.
- Cartridges containing a chemical composition that absorbs hydrogen from the TIP are placed on the casing to prevent hydrogen corrosion of the material, which leads to a reduction in strength and the formation of methane in the metal.
For Air Separation Units
- Pipelines operating at low temperatures shall be provided with appropriate thermal insulation and shall be made of stainless steel.
- To smooth out temperature differences, long and large-diameter pipelines are equipped with compensators.
- Pipelines for liquid oxygen in accordance with Instruction U 870-00-3 are divided into five categories depending on operating pressure indicators.
- Paronite or fluoroplastic -4 are recommended as gasket materials for transporting liquid oxygen.
- Degreasing is a mandatory procedure during pipeline installation or repair.
